JOB DESCRIPTION

A product owner’s mainobjectiveis to translatebusiness problems and requirementsintouser stories that enable a development team tocreate the best solution to solve customer problems.A product owner atVertaforeis a member ofanenergeticagile teamof Software and QA engineersandis responsible fordefining, prioritizing, andensuringthat developedsolutionsachieve business requirements.

You will collaborate closely with internalstakeholdersto understand business processes/goals andidentifybusiness problems that may be effectively resolved with technology solutions.You’llworkclosely with Sr. Product Owners and/ orProduct Managerstounderstand roadmap goals/strategy and distill high-level requirementsinto a backlog of user storiesthat enable development teams to understand what problems need to be solvedin order tobuild the best solution.As a ProductOwneryou will alsoprioritize thedevelopment backlog andwork with Sr. ProductOwnersand/ orProduct Managers toplan andsequence the workappropriately.As features or user stories are delivered,you’llwork closely with QAto ensurethe problems are solved and requirements are met.

CoreRequirements andResponsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

  • Translate business problems and requirementsintouser stories for the development teams to implement

  • Develop andmaintaina prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation

  • Partnerwith QA todefine acceptance criteriaand verify acceptance criteriaaremet

  • Research and respond to questions from designers, developers,and QA

  • Clarify user stories to theappropriate levelof detail where needed

  • Collaborate with product management, development,and user experience design staff to lead on time, successful scopedefinitionand feature deployment

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1-3yearsof professionalexperience, preferablyworkingwithB2B SaaSsoftware

  • Experience working within a cross functional organization

  • Experiencesupporting customerneeds and communicating

  • Experiencecommunicating effectively with multiple parties, including customers

  • Demonstrated ability toexercise judgment withingenerally definedpractices and select methods to obtain solutions

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel requiredup to10% of the time.

  • Located and working fromanofficelocation.

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and armmovementsrequiredtooperatea computer.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

  • Frequent sitting and/orstanding.
