Product Owner, AI & Data Platforms

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Product Owner, AI & Data Platforms is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering AI-driven products and data solutions that enhance business operations and guest experience. This role ensures clear communication of product functionality and requirements to the Scrum Team by writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and validating outcomes.

This individual works closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable AI solutions, including machine learning models, data pipelines, and real-time streaming applications. The Product Owner balances new AI capabilities with ongoing product support to ensure consistent delivery of value and quality, while aligning with business objectives and enterprise data strategy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Gather and define requirements from stakeholders for AI, data, and automation initiatives
• Translate business needs into user stories and detailed acceptance criteria for AI and data solutions
• Maintain, groom, and prioritize a backlog focused on AI use cases, data products, and platform enhancements
• Set sprint goals and align team execution with the AI product roadmap and business priorities
• Lead planning and delivery of AI product releases, including model deployments and data pipeline enhancements
• Partner with UX/UI and business teams to design intuitive, data-driven user experiences
• Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams on machine learning, streaming data, and cloud-based solutions
• Validate that AI models and data products meet business requirements, accuracy thresholds, and performance expectations prior to production deployment
• Coordinate across vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders for AI and data initiatives
• Prioritize and manage issues related to production AI systems, including data quality, model performance, and system reliability
• Promote best practices in AI governance, data privacy, and responsible AI usage
• Support the team using a servant leadership approach, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires normal, corrective vision range and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
• Must be able to sit for the duration of the shift
• Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably supporting data or AI-focused products
• Hands-on experience managing the full product lifecycle, including AI or data-driven solutions
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and product delivery methodologies
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, and modern data architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OCI, and tools like Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
• Knowledge of streaming and event-driven architectures, including Pub/Sub or Kafka
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
• Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred, experience may be substituted
• Product Owner Certification is a plus but not required
• Understanding of AI governance, model monitoring, and data compliance principles preferred
