Overview:

Leviton is seeking a Product Manager to join the Personal Protection product team, responsible for the strategy and success of our Personal Protection portfolio, including market leading GFCI and AFCI receptacles. This role plays a critical part in shaping products that protect people and property while reinforcing Leviton’s reputation for quality and reliability.

 

The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end, customer centric strategy of assigned product lines, including new product development, go-to-market planning, operational performance, and long-term strategic roadmap development.

 

This is a highly cross functional role requiring a broad understanding of product engineering, new product development, supply chain, sales channel dynamics, and overall business strategy. The ideal candidate will excel at collaborating with diverse internal stakeholders to ensure best-in-class products are developed, launched, and supported in alignment with our product roadmap.

 

Salary Range (NY): $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 

Responsibilities:
  • Has direct responsibility for overseeing assigned product lines, both new and current, throughout every stage of the product life cycle, from initial concept to discontinuation.
  • Responsible for evaluating and assessing product line performance, including but not limited to revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Drives innovation and promotes a customer-focused design culture through field visits, customer engagement, and understanding of competitors.
  • Monitors new trends for growth opportunities, technological progress, changes to the national electric code, and other relevant areas for impacts to responsible product lines.
  • Responsible for examining, developing, and recommending product strategies, inclusive of a 3–5-year roadmap
  • Owns all aspects of the product development process, including conducting research and analysis, preparing Business Proposals, defining Market Requirements Documents, and creating Go-To-Market strategies for new products.
  • Is the subject matter expert for assigned product lines or products, markets, customers, and competitors, providing advisory support and comprehensive product information to Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Customer Service, Technical Support, and Sales teams.
  • Supports activities related to quality, cost improvements, lean manufacturing, and product customization.
  • Leads and directs project teams in the development or sustaining process to execute projects and assignments
  • Participates in sales meetings, visits customers and end-users as necessary, and evangelizes / champions assigned product lines including delivering product training presentations to internal sales and technical support teams, as well as external customers
  • Works closely with in collaboration with Channel and Marketing Managers to develop marketing strategies, messaging, and materials aligned with wider product strategy and positioning
  • Capable of managing the support activities of an Associate Product Manager and / or Product Coordinator
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
  • Must be self-reliant and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must apply critical thinking skills to determine best approach to bring new products to market and to work with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales staffs
  • Ability to organize, manage and lead project teams to support the development of business opportunities and execute business decisions
  • Capable of navigating complex enterprise computer applications to quickly become proficient
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and operations processes
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with customers
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and computer skills
  • A highly developed level of creative skills and resourcefulness is required
  • Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Education & Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of direct Product Management experience required
  • Experience with product line management throughout the entire life cycle
  • Experience presenting to groups of managers, employees, and the general public
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and instruction or procedure manuals
  • Experience with financial analysis, reports, and managerial accounting for decision making
  • Experience with regulatory or standards organizations, such as UL, CSA and NOM is a plus
Travel:
  • Up to 25% travel
