What's the Role?

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Manager to lead the transformation of the mortgage operations experience through automation, workflow optimization, and technology innovation. This role will be responsible for defining product strategy, roadmap priorities, and detailed requirements that dramatically improve how loans move through the mortgage lifecycle.

Our vision is to create a mortgage experience where:

  • Customers are proactively informed and rarely need to ask for updates.
  • Loan Officers have intuitive tools that enable them to work effectively from anywhere without being tied to a desk.
  • Operations teams leverage automation, intelligent workflows, and streamlined processes to reduce manual effort, improve quality, and accelerate loan fulfillment.
  • This particular role will focus primarily on the third pillar: modernizing and automating mortgage operations to drive efficiency, scalability, and exceptional loan quality.
  • The ideal candidate combines deep mortgage domain expertise with strong product management skills and a passion for solving complex operational challenges. Experience with Encompass and mortgage fulfillment processes is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and own the roadmap for mortgage operations automation and process optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort throughout the loan lifecycle, from application through closing.
  • Partner with business leaders to establish product priorities aligned to operational efficiency, quality, customer experience, and growth objectives.
  • Develop business cases and success metrics for product investments.

Product Discovery & Requirements

  • Work closely with Operations, Processing, Underwriting, Closing, Secondary Marketing, Compliance, and Technology teams to identify pain points and opportunities.
  • Translate business challenges into clear product requirements, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Map and optimize end-to-end mortgage processes to eliminate friction and unnecessary manual touchpoints.
  • Define solutions that improve automation rates, cycle times, productivity, and loan quality.

Execution & Delivery

  • Partner with engineering and technology teams to deliver products and enhancements that drive measurable business impact.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer value, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and strategic alignment.
  • Lead backlog refinement, roadmap planning, and sprint-level prioritization activities.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with operational best practices.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of the mortgage loan lifecycle including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing operations.
  • Strong experience identifying opportunities for operational automation and workflow optimization.
  • Background in mortgage operations, fulfillment, underwriting, processing, or loan manufacturing.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive organizational change.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
