Description Tyler Technologies is seeking a Product Manager for API Platform & Ecosystem to lead the strategy, development, and evolution of APIs as first-class products for Public Safety. This role focuses on enabling teams that build the foundational infrastructure, governance, and partner-friendly interfaces required for secure, scalable data exchange across public safety agencies and trusted partners within the Tyler portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong platform-oriented product thinking, deep experience with APIs, and a passion for interoperability in complex, mission-critical environments. They can balance long-term platform strategy with near-term delivery while collaborating closely with engineering, architecture, security, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• API Platform & Product Strategy: Define and own the product vision and roadmap for Tyler's API platform supporting Public Safety, treating APIs as scalable, reusable products. • Lead development of infrastructure supporting API lifecycle management, discoverability, versioning, scalability, and reliability in mission-critical environments. • Leverage success metrics to guide API adoption, usage, performance, and ecosystem impact. • Open API & Ecosystem Enablement: Advance an open, ecosystem-oriented API strategy that improves interoperability and strengthens Tyler's position in the Public Safety market. • Evolve API standards and MCP-style access models that enable safe, governed use by AI systems and automated agents. • Partner with architecture and security teams to ensure consistent, secure, and compliant API standards, documentation, and developer experience across Tyler products. • Long-Term API Marketplace Strategy: Shape and execute a long-term strategy for an API marketplace supporting internal teams, customer integrations, and third-party partners. • Enable scalable data import/export to support analytics, interoperability, and partner solutions. • Identify opportunities for APIs to drive new value, revenue streams, or strategic partnerships.

Partnership Enablement & Evaluation

• Support partner relationships by defining API capabilities, onboarding workflows, and technical enablement. • Evaluate inbound partnership requests, and through collaboration assess technical feasibility, strategic alignment, and platform impact. • Partner with business development, legal, and product leadership to support go-to-market and partnership decisions.

Delivery & Collaboration

• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog aligned with strategic goals and engineering capacity. • Translate platform strategy into clear work breakdown through collaboration. • Act as a key connector across engineering, architecture, security, product teams, and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, with experience in platform or API-driven products. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API lifecycle management, and integration patterns. Proven success working with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, architecture, and security. Ability to think strategically about platforms and ecosystems while delivering incremental value. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Public Safety, Justice, or government technology solutions. Background in building or scaling API platforms or ecosystems. Familiarity with API gateways, authentication/authorization (OAuth, OpenID Connect), and API management tools. Experience supporting B2B or partner-driven integrations. Exposure to API marketplaces or monetization strategies.

Why This Role Matters This role is critical to Tyler's ability to scale integrations, enable partners, and compete in a market increasingly driven by open ecosystems and data interoperability. The Product Manager will directly influence how Tyler products connect, both internally and externally, for years.
