To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
- Lead product development activities from concept through production launch.
- Design and release automotive components/systems in compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal specifications.
- Create and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
- Perform engineering analysis and support validation testing (DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.).
- Interface with customers and suppliers to address technical requirements and resolve issues, with a strong focus on design for manufacturing/assembly (DFM/DFA)
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related concerns.
- Support APQP and PPAP processes for product launches.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
This salary-exempt role is a part of our program management team and reports to the Director of Program Management.
Required experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of product engineering experience in automotive industry, experience with complex chassis products preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes such as stamping, casting, molding, machining, welding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with automotive product development lifecycle and quality systems (APQP, PPAP, FMEA).
- Familiarity with OEM engineering release systems and customer-specific requirements (Ford, GM, Stellantis, etc.).
- Familiarity working with GD&T callouts, including ability to read quality data and understand variation analysis and the potential impact on product design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, self-driven at troubleshooting.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- CAD experience (UG, Catia, AutoCAD Desktop, etc.).
- Ability to work well with others in a multi-functional team environment.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
