Product Engineer

Setting/Hours: 100% in Office| Full-time (eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week after 120 days)

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Lebanon, Ohio that’s expanding its Manufacturing team. 



Client Summary:

This organization specializes in the design and manufacturing of large-scale capital equipment, with a strong emphasis on fabrication-driven production. Operations are supported by established engineering standards and ISO 9001-certified processes, fostering structured collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, service, and product management teams.

Position Overview:

This is a hands-on product engineering role centered on equipment already in production. The position focuses on mechanical design, engineering calculations, and DFMA principles, while also supporting analysis and continuous improvement efforts. With strong mentorship and cross-functional exposure, the role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex equipment and contribute to both new product development and ongoing product support.


Must Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET)

  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks, including exposure to FEA (Ansys preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience designing large capital equipment in a real-world manufacturing environment

  • Experience supporting production of large capital equipment orders

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and welding design principles

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

  • Eagerness to learn and support a broad portfolio of complex products

Preferred:

  • Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA), ideally using Ansys


RESPONSIBILITIES and QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience performing mechanical design and engineering calculations for large capital equipment

  • Ability to contribute to conceptual design efforts, collaborating with designers and cross-functional teams

  • Strong application of DFMA principles, with a focus on fabrication-driven designs

  • Experience conducting FEA and supporting design analysis to validate performance and reliability

  • Ability to manage a workload heavily focused on design and analysis (approximately 80–90%)

  • Experience supporting both new product development and service engineering activities

  • Ability to troubleshoot production and field issues, including supporting root cause analysis and engineering change requests

  • Experience working in later stages of the product lifecycle, including product support and continuous improvement

  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to maintain drawings, specifications, and engineering records in compliance with ISO 9001 standards
