Product Design and Development - Materials Designer 3

Introduction

Join our dynamic team as a Materials Designer 3, contributing to innovative projects in creative footwear material design. This role is based in Beaverton, OR, with some on-campus work required on Fridays. This is a 13-month special project contract.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Creative Footwear Material Design.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience working on multiple segments of a line.
• Interest or knowledge in skateboarding, sneaker culture, or streetwear.
• Portfolio showcasing recent work, ideas for the SB brand, design process, and examples of successes and failures.
• Prior work experience in the client's industry, with a focus on skateboarding.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of leathers, canvases, uppers, synthetics, wovens, and meshes. Footwear trims are a bonus.
• Understanding of the business aspects of material design.
• Technical knowledge of materials.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members on SB, partnerships, and signature and core products.
• Bring innovative ideas to the table for material design in footwear.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute design projects.
