Description:
A global athletic brand is looking for a Production Artist to join the Apparel Graphic Production team focused on Basketball. This role is a hybrid of production artist and graphic designer, with a focus on cut-and-sew apparel. You will take designs from other graphics and transfer them into schematics for product creation. You will work on highly visible product for both branded and licensed basketball (NBA, WNBA, Kobe projects), helping to redefine graphics for athletes and fans. You will create detailed and accurate graphic schematics, manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, and serve as the go-to graphic production resource for cross-functional teams. You will leverage both 2D and 3D tools, review strike-offs, track file accuracy through final approval, and help advocate for efficiencies in the product creation lifecycle.

Requirements for the role:
5+ years of experience in a design and/or production environment (specifically apparel design)
Production artist and graphic designer combo experience for cut-and-sew
Experience with promo and basketball athletic wear
Proficient knowledge of Illustrator and Adobe Suite
Advanced knowledge of graphic applications such as ink types and trim substrates
Understanding of product lifecycle and key deliverables
Expert-level listening, communication, and organizational skills
Proven ability to support and lead peers in new tools and ways of working
Ability to navigate ambiguity while continuing to collaborate with the team
Laser focus on critical details that often get missed
Ability to multi-task amidst competing priorities
Curiosity for learning and building a strong design community
Basic understanding of 3D apparel programs (CLO or Lotta)
Portfolio must include schematics, line art for product creation, and graphic design for athletic wear
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
5+ years of experience in a design and/or production environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Experience working directly with athletes or strong interest in basketball
Previous Nike industry experience (not required open to external candidates)
Understanding of Smartsheets, Airtable, and Miro
A love for sports (but love for design is essential)
