Join our team as a skilled technical expert tasked with transforming customer insights into tailored design solutions to fortify our engineering and sales operations. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between customer needs and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring seamless product functionality and adherence to industry standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Collaborating with sales teams to assess client specifications, ensuring alignment with product features and manufacturing processes.
- Developing intricate drawings, layouts, and schematics using advanced design software to meet project objectives.
- Conducting in-depth analysis of equipment performance standards, advising on suitable design adjustments to align with production capabilities.
- Overseeing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to enhance product designs and minimize potential issues.
- Leading discussions in design review sessions with cross-functional teams to cultivate custom-engineered solutions.
- Offering engineering expertise to support production activities, which includes site inspections and startup procedures.
- Decoding relevant industry regulations from UL to NEC, ensuring products meet compliance.
- Accessing and optimizing existing design files, driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Building comprehensive product knowledge over time and supporting testing initiatives and result evaluations.

Qualifications:

- An Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, or a related Engineering Technology field with 3–5 years of experience, or a balanced combination of educational and professional experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (2018 or newer) is crucial.
- A sound grasp of mobile electrification systems for both industrial and commercial usage.
- Superb communication skills to articulate technical requirements clearly amongst various teams and clients.

Expect a predominantly office-based work environment, demanding regular seated hours with some physical activity. Candidates need the physical ability to handle up to 25 pounds periodically. The role may require PPE during specific site visits. While the primary work environment remains quiet, the ability to adapt to dynamic production and testing settings is expected. Technical leadership will be a part of your role, shouldering responsibilities to mentor and guide designer team members.
