Role: Product Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA
Our client, a fast-growing B2B fintech startup focused on the construction industry, is hiring a Product Analyst to become a deep product expert and help the team scale. They're looking for a sharp, semi-technical generalist who is excited to dive deep into API documentation and obsess over the details.
This role is being hired to own the product research, QA, and documentation work currently handled by Technical PMs and Solutions Engineers - freeing up the team to ship high-quality products faster. It's an execution-focused role with a clear growth path to a full Product Manager position.
What You'll Do
- Become a deep expert on every system the company integrates with - including ERPs, field tools, and accounting platforms - by diving into their APIs and documentation.
- Write precise, engineer-ready specifications for new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
- Design and execute thorough test plans before features ship to catch edge cases and ensure quality.
- Synthesize customer feedback from call recordings, support tickets, and onboarding observations to translate pain points into actionable specs.
- Build and maintain internal documentation for integration behaviors, known edge cases, and testing frameworks.
What You Bring
Required:
- 0 2 years of experience in a semi-technical role - product operations, engineering, ops, quant research, or similar at a startup. New grads encouraged with relevant startup internship experience.
- Internship or full-time experience at a startup.
- Degree from a Top 30 university.
- Meticulous attention to detail and structured thinking.
- Hands-on experience with or excitement to work with APIs, databases, and SQL.
Preferred:
- Quantitative field of study (CS, Math, Engineering, or similar).
- Experience building software products alongside software engineers.
- Ability to write precise, engineer-ready technical specifications.
