Job Summary We seek a talented individual who is passionate about teaching, invested in student success, and eager to serve as producer for a dynamic theatre and dance program. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, we invite you to apply for a one-year visiting assistant or associate professor position to begin August 18, 2026. Scope The Department of Performing Arts in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University welcomes applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor or visiting associate professor position in Theatre Arts with the possibility of extending the appointment for an additional 1 or 2 years by mutual agreement. This unique position includes a 50% teaching assignment and 50% responsibilities to serve as Producer for an extensive academic theatre season.

Principal Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach courses based on expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Arts administration
  • Acting
  • Directing
  • Musical theatre
  • Dance
  • Theatre design and technology

As Producer, the candidate will collaborate closely with the Production Manager, the Department Chair for Performing Arts, and the faculty of Theatre Arts to ensure the successful planning and execution of the academic theatre and dance season. Responsibilities will include:

  • Production budgeting and reconciliation
  • Production licensing
  • Liaising with guest artists
  • Contract negotiation through production
  • Casting oversight
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional responsibilities include service to the Department and College.
