Position Description

The Producer, Post-Production & International Content is responsible for three key areas: (1)

overseeing staff and managing workflows related to the post-production and delivery of video

content created by the University Communications & Marketing department (40% of duties); (2)

leading the production of departmental video projects, which may include coordinating, filming,

editing, and fulfilling other production roles as needed (30% of duties); and (3) driving

international content initiatives from ideation through distribution to support Biola's global

outreach and marketing efforts, with a strategic focus on audiences in Asia-particularly

Indonesia (30% of duties). This role ensures that all content reflects Biola's brand standards,

resonates culturally with target audiences, and maintains high production quality, advancing the

university's mission and strategic objectives in international markets.

Educational/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Communications, or a related field; OR at least

five years of professional experience managing teams and overseeing video production

projects.

Proven expertise in developing and delivering content tailored to Asian audiences, with a

strong understanding of cultural and market-specific nuances.

Demonstrated proficiency in video production, including directing, editing, and overall

content creation.

Work Requirements

Full-time - 40 hours/week, 12 months per year.

40% Post-Production Supervision, 30% Production Support, 30% International Content

Requires personal attendance at Biola's campus in La Mirada, CA.

Some evening and weekend work required to accommodate production schedules.

Physical requirements include lifting, bending, or standing for long periods.

Essential Duties

Manage and oversee the post-production process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality

video content that meets departmental, brand, and technical standards.

Collaborate with in-house production teams and internal/external creative teams to bring

projects from concept to execution on time, ensuring content meets brand and quality

standards.

Develop and produce video content from ideation to distribution, focusing on (1)

university marketing priorities and (2) international trends in higher education,

particularly in Asia and specifically in Indonesia, to create content that resonates with

these audiences.

Train, guide, and oversee post-production full-time staff and student workers, which can

include:

Editing Team (finalizing media and post-production tasks)dang

Graphics Staff (titles, branding, animations)

Accessibility and Captioning Support Staff

Other personnel, as needed

Ensure all media, project files, and deliverables meet Biola's aesthetic, technical, and

accessibility standards.

Help drive improvements to production and post-production workflows, deliverable

specifications, and equipment configurations to support high-quality outputs.

Troubleshoot issues with files, software, equipment, or processes as they arise.

Manage and update production, post-production, and delivery schedules using project

management or collaboration tools such as Airtable and Google Workspace.

Support initiatives and outreach material related to the Indonesian and other Asian

markets for students in the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

Support ongoing caption translations from the English language to the Indonesian

language for existing and future video content.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental goals and

objectives.

Ensure videos are prepared, reviewed, and delivered before the start of each term or per

project deadlines.

Required Skills/Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of post-production processes, media asset management,

equipment, and workflows, including editing, sound design, color correction, file

archiving, and encoding.

Strong understanding of international trends in higher education, particularly across key

Asian countries particularly Indonesia, Korea, China, and others, and an understanding of

cultural nuances and sentiments toward higher education in these regions.

Fluent in the Indonesian language in both writing and speaking.

Familiarity with Korean and Chinese languages is preferred, but not required.

Ability to identify, interpret, and leverage emerging trends across industries in Asia,

including religion, technology, entertainment, lifestyle, and consumer preferences. Strong

grasp of how these trends evolve and impact both local and global markets.

Strong storytelling abilities, with the capacity to weave visuals, dialogue, music, and

creative elements for impactful international marketing.

Expertise with various camera formats, including DSLR, mirrorless, and professional

cinema cameras (e.g., ARRI, RED, Canon, Sony, Blackmagic) and lighting/grip

equipment.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition,

Media Encoder, Illustrator) and knowledge of video codecs.

Experience with the Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve post-production suite is

strongly preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively

with creative teams and non-technical faculty or staff.

Team player with a flexible, positive, and solution-oriented attitude.

Ability to remain calm and focused under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects

simultaneously.

Proficiency in using project management tools and scheduling software.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in all deliverables.
