Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Producer, the Producer, Digital Content, is responsible for the creation, production and distribution of the digital content on NJ PBS platforms, including digital-first video, text, and audio content for NJ PBS's streaming platforms, website, YouTube channel, and social media platforms. The Producer collaborates with reporters, production staff, and external content partners to ensure NJ PBS has a consistent, compelling, and exciting digital presence to reach the widest possible audience.
NOTE: Hiring is contingent upon the execution of the contract between the State of New Jersey and Montclair State University.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement digital content plans aligned with NJ PBS programming goals and audience growth targets.
Produce short-form video content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, from concept through final delivery.
Assist in the development of future NJ PBS live streaming channels.
Manage the social media editorial calendar, scheduling and publishing content across all NJ PBS digital channels.
Work with news and programming teams to identify digital storytelling opportunities from broadcast content.
Optimize content for each distribution platform, adapting format, length, and style to match platform-specific audience expectations.
Track analytics and audience engagement metrics, using data to inform content decisions and performance report.
Contribute ideas and story pitches to editorial meetings, representing the digital content perspective.
Work with the anchor, reporters and external partners to ensure that their contributions are timely to digital platforms and are tailored to each individual digital platform's storytelling method.
Maintain consistent NJ PBS brand voice and editorial standards across all digital platforms.
Archive digital content and maintain organized asset libraries for future use and repurposing.
Monitor the changing landscape of digital platform creation and usage, and ensure that NJ PBS is providing content to any new digital technologies that develop a measurable audience.
Adhere to NJ PBS editorial standards and public media ethics guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in journalism, communications, broadcasting or a related field.
Minimum three years of experience creating original content for digital platforms, including YouTube, streaming services, and social media platforms.
Demonstrated proficiency in video production and editing software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent)
Proficiency with newsroom management systems and broadcast production tools.
Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced live news environment.
Strong background in journalism and ethics and deep understanding of audience engagement.
PREFERRED:
Experience in a public media, news, or broadcast environment.
Knowledge of SEO, YouTube optimization, social media platforms, and audience analytics.
Experience with live streaming production and distribution.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Salary Range
$76,486.40-$84,131.83 Annually
