Piper Companies is seeking a Product Manager to support a fast-growing, tech-driven organization within the insurance and financial services industry. The Product Manager role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong expertise in product delivery, enterprise systems, and cross-functional collaboration who is excited to help scale annuity and retail platform capabilities in a high-growth environment. Must be local to Durham, NC

Responsibilities of the Product Manager:

  • Define and manage the product roadmap and execution for assigned insurance and retail platform areas.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across operations, actuarial, finance, compliance, data, and engineering teams.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable system solutions and actionable development plans.
  • Maintain ownership of product backlog, prioritization, and ongoing refinement in an Agile environment.
  • Support new product implementations including annuity products, financial processing, and policy servicing capabilities.
  • Analyze user workflows and customer experience to identify and drive platform improvements.
  • Balance delivery of new features with technical debt, operational needs, and time-to-market goals.
  • Manage and coordinate with external vendors supporting platform systems and integrations.
  • Improve operational efficiency through process optimization and automation initiatives.
  • Define success metrics, analyze outcomes, and use data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure quality and completeness across deliverables in a fast-paced, high-priority environment.

Qualifications of the Product Manager:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, business systems analysis, or software delivery.
  • Experience within financial services, insurance, annuities, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Policy Administration Systems; FAST platform experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience translating business needs into technical requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system behavior and data outputs.
  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, batch processing, and enterprise system workflows.
  • Proficiency with SQL and ability to independently analyze and validate data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-starter with strong ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives end-to-end.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation for the Product Manager includes:

  • Salary range: $105,000 - $130,000
