Position Summary:

The Procurement Specialist role plays a vital role in ensuring effective procurement and sourcing of materials, goods, and services essential for our operations as a US nonprofit defense contractor supporting organizational mission and values. This position contributes to the strategic procurement initiatives, vendor management, and overall project success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Procurement team to execute procurement strategies that ensure cost-efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement plans aligned with operational goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide support in executing procurement initiatives.
• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
• Monitor and analyze procurement metrics to ensure adherence to performance targets.
• Contribute to the enhancement of procurement processes, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in supplier relationship management, ensuring continuity and risk mitigation.
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to inform sourcing strategies.
• Support the Procurement Lead in reviewing negotiation packages in coordination with the contracts team.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure seamless execution of procurement activities.
• Maintain proficiency in procurement tools and software, including Microsoft Office.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with US government procurement regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of thriving in fast-paced environments.
• Strong ethical standards and integrity.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Travel Expectations:

• Expected travel: Minimal to None.
• Periodic travel to HQ for meetings may be required.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $54,800 - $68,500, based on factors such as experience, skills, required location, and available funding. This range reflects that base salary and does not include any possible bonuses or benefits. Actual compensation may vary and will be determined during the interview process and in accordance with applicable laws.
