Position summary
The Procurement Manager will assist in the continued implementation and ongoing oversight of the new global vendor management function. The vendor management function will evolve to include and oversee vendor management services including contract management, third-party vendor risk assessment of providers, vendor registration and offboarding, strategic sourcing, contract review and management, buying, and relationship monitoring. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Vendor Management, the Procurement Manager will maintain strong strategic internal and external relationships to ensure the firm's needs and standards with regard to all aspects of vendor management are met and maintained.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Jointly determine and execute on vendor management strategies aligned with firm priorities working with Reed Smith leadership team
- Contract review, negotiation, and management
- Vendor lifecycle management
- Exercises independent judgment regarding vendor selection, sourcing recommendations, contract terms, and procurement strategies.Maintain strategic procurement relationships through frequent interaction with the firm's strategic procurement partners, consultants, and top-spend vendors
- Development of vendor management policies and procedures that align with the firm's agreements, expectations, and contractual commitments
- Promote vendor management goals and activities to firm leadership and end users
- Communicate and assist with billing/payment issues internally and with vendors
- Investigate current and historical procurement records to respond to inquiries regarding spend
- Assist in establishing productive relationships and navigating cultural dynamics between firm leaders, business services stakeholders, and outsourced vendor management providers
- Makes recommendations to leadership regarding vendor relationships, sourcing decisions, and operational improvements
- Effectively identify and mitigate potential roadblocks or conflicts to enable effective operation of vendor management program
- Responsible for evaluating vendor performance and recommending corrective action or termination where appropriate.
- Responsible for managing procurement initiatives involving significant operational and financial impact to the Firm
- Ensure effective vendor management service delivery that meets firm leadership expectations and contractual commitments
- Assist with communication and rollout of policies and procedures to key business services stakeholders
- Manage other projects and additional duties as assigned

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
Experience:
- 3-5 years of management experience; 3-5 years of procurement / vendor management experience
- Experience in Professional Services organization (such as law firm, consulting or accounting firm) desired

Additional information
Supervisory responsibilities: Vendor Management Specialist
Equipment used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, contract management system.

Working conditions
You will be required to work in the office at minimum 4 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
Pay ranges
This is a non-exempt position. The hourly wage range for this role is approximately $52.64 to $60.10 per hour, with an estimated annual compensation range of $109,500 to $125,000, based on expected hours. This represents the presently anticipated pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
