This position, in a highly dynamic organization, offers a broad range of opportunities to launch your career in public service. The Department of Fire and Rescue is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to work in a fast-paced environment that serves multiple programs and organizational levels.

About This Role:

As the Procurement Coordinator you are responsible for supporting and managing the end-to-end purchasing process within an organization. This role ensures that goods, services, and supplies are sourced, ordered, and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining compliance with company policies and procurement standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related field

Preferences:

  • Proven experience processing and tracking purchase orders (POs)
  • Strong experience communicating directly with vendors and suppliers
  • Ability to accurately maintain and update procurement records and databases
  • Experience performing invoice matching and reconciliation
  • Experience supporting sourcing activities such as gathering supplier information and comparing quotes
  • Working knowledge of ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Special Requirements:

Background checks, which may include, but are not limited to, criminal history checks, credit history checks, education verification checks, license verification checks, and/or fingerprinting, may be required as posted in the job advertisement.

Effective October 2012, mandated by the Virginia state Board of Health 12vac5-31-540, VA EMS regulations require a criminal background check conducted by the central crime records exchange and the National Crime Information Center via Virginia State Police, and a driving record transcript from the individual's state department of motor vehicles.

Work Schedule:

This is a non-exempt, 37.50-hour-per-week, Monday-Friday position, with normal working hours between 8 am and 4:30 pm. Some telework is available with the supervisors approval.

Starting Salary Range:

$28.32 - $40.69 per hour
