Procurement Coordinator - Connected Supply
Job Description Summary
The Connected Supply Coordinator is responsible for leading Tier N supply chain mapping initiatives across all customer programs within a global automotive Tier 1 environment. This role manages a small team of analysts to drive end-to-end supplier visibility, implement and sustain third-party supply chain mapping and supplier onboarding platforms, and provide actionable insights to Global Procurement leadership.
The position plays a critical role in enhancing supply chain transparency, identifying risk exposure (e.g., chokepoints, single-source dependencies), and supporting OEM customer requirements through accurate data submissions and reporting. This position reports to the Head of Connected Supply & Tariffs within the Global Procurement Administration department.
Job Description:
Lead and manage a team of analysts responsible for mapping multi-tier (Tier N) supply chains across all customer programs.
Establish standardized methodologies for:
Supplier identification and relationship mapping
Tier linkage validation (Tier 1 Tier N)
Data collection and verification processes
Ensure full coverage of critical components and commodities across global programs.
Maintain up-to-date supply chain maps reflecting current sourcing structures and changes.
Oversee the onboarding of suppliers into digital mapping platforms, ensuring:
Accurate facility-level data capture
Complete Tier N disclosures
Alignment with OEM reporting requirements
Engage directly with suppliers to resolve data gaps, inconsistencies, and non-compliance.
Standardize supplier data templates and submission formats.
Ensure data readiness for audit, risk analysis, and customer reporting.
Identify and flag:
Chokepoints (concentration risks across multiple programs)
Single-source suppliers
Geographic and geopolitical exposure risks
Provide structured outputs to Risk Management teams for mitigation planning.
Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to support:
Dual sourcing strategies
Supply continuity planning
Program risk assessments
Support crisis response activities with rapid supply chain visibility and impact analysis.
Interface directly with OEM customers (e.g., Ford, GM, Stellantis) to:
Respond to supply chain transparency requests
Provide Tier N mapping submissions and updates
Support program-specific reporting requirements
Manage and submit required documentation through OEM portals and reporting systems.
Ensure data consistency between internal systems and customer-facing submissions.
Support customer audits and validation requests.
Define and track key progress metrics, including:
% of supply chain mapped to Tier N
Supplier onboarding completion rates
Data accuracy and validation scores
Platform adoption and engagement levels
Develop and maintain executive dashboards (Power BI preferred) for Global Procurement Management.
Provide monthly updates on:
Mapping progress by program and region
Identified risks and mitigation status
Supplier participation and compliance
Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Establish governance frameworks for:
Data ownership
Update cadence
Quality control and validation
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Tier N mapping and supplier onboarding.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
Data automation
Process efficiency
Enhanced risk visibility
Stay aligned with industry best practices and evolving OEM requirements for supply chain transparency.
Required Skills and Education
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in:
Automotive supply chain / procurement
Supplier management or risk management
Supply chain mapping or visibility initiatives
Experience leading small teams or cross-functional initiatives required
Technical Skills
Experience with supply chain mapping / risk platforms (e.g., Altana, Resilinc, Interos)
Strong proficiency in:
Microsoft Excel (advanced data analysis)
Power BI (dashboard development and reporting)
Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, Plex, SAP) and supplier management tools (e.g., Ivalua)
Understanding of:
Multi-tier supply chain structures
Automotive program management requirements
