    Job Role: The PSM Engineer serves as a subject matter expert on OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs. This role is responsible for conducting compliance audits, performing complex engineering calculations, generating deficiency reports, and delivering training for internal and external teams. The PSM Engineer ensures customers meet all applicable regulatory requirements and supports the broader mission of delivering safe, high-performance refrigeration systems.

    Key Duties:

    • Perform consultative audits and inspections for customer facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA's PSM and EPA's RMP programs.
    • Provide detailed engineering reports documenting program deficiencies with recommended corrective actions.
    • Conduct engineering system calculations as part of compliance evaluations.
    • Deliver on-site and remote training sessions to educate customers on PSM/RMP compliance.
    • Act as a compliance subject matter expert for internal engineering and design teams.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Systems Engineering.
    • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites across the U.S. (12-15 weeks per year).
    • Strong communication skills to explain program deficiencies to site and corporate-level customer staff.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
    • Ability and willingness to instruct refrigeration and compliance concepts to technical and management personnel.
    • Strong writing skills for preparing accurate and thorough engineering reports.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Comfortable working at heights and performing hands-on tasks on active job sites.
    • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment and regular drug testing.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods.
    • Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small equipment).

    Preferences:

    • EIT license or interest in pursuing it.
    • Willingness to work toward obtaining a PE license (company sponsorship available).
    • Prior experience with mechanical systems, process improvement, or MEP construction.
    • HVAC/R industry experience.
