Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineering Technician to join our growing engineering team. This hands-on role supports production, manufacturing, automation, and engineering operations in a fast-paced injection molding environment. The ideal Process Engineering Technician has experience with injection molding processes, mold setup, troubleshooting, quality inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
As a Process Engineering Technician, you will:
- Work closely with production, automation, and product engineering teams.
- Install and remove molds from injection molding machines along with required auxiliary equipment.
- Perform mold changes, machine startups, and process verification using established procedures.
- Set up material handling equipment and prepare production lines for successful operation.
- Verify proper resin selection, melt temperatures, injection speeds, shot sizes, and process pressures.
- Perform first-piece inspections and dimensional measurements to verify product quality.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and assist with process improvements.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on molds and related equipment.
- Perform general tool shop duties as needed.
- Maintain accurate resin inventory and ERP system records.
- Complete production documentation, inspection reports, and required paperwork accurately.
- Operate forklifts and safely move materials throughout the facility.
- Grind rejected parts and runners for recycling.
- Service grinders, filters, hoses, seals, and related equipment.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and material specifications.
- Support 5S initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement and customer-focused manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
Qualified Process Engineering Technician candidates should possess:
- Experience with injection mold setup, mold changes, machine startups, and process troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes and plastic material handling.
- Experience conducting dimensional inspections and first-piece quality verification.
- Preventative maintenance experience on molds and production equipment.
- Familiarity with secondary operations, automation, End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), and gauge fixturing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Computer proficiency including ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for material mixing and process verification.
- Ability to contribute ideas for continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of quality systems and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Experience working alongside automation and manufacturing engineering teams.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 55 pounds multiple times throughout each shift.
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Work within a manufacturing environment while maintaining safe work practices.
