We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to support and optimize our SMT manufacturing operations within a fast-paced PCB/PCBA environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives on the production floor and brings deep expertise across SMT processes, equipment, and continuous improvement.
You will play a critical role in driving process optimization, yield improvements, and operational scalability, while partnering closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and optimize SMT manufacturing processes, including placement, reflow, and inspection
  • Develop and refine reflow profiles to ensure product quality and process stability
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues in real time on the production floor
  • Drive line optimization efforts to improve throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield
  • Analyze defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across SMT operations
  • Support process automation and modernization efforts to enhance scalability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges
  • Assist in validation and implementation of new equipment, materials, and processes

Required Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of SMT process engineering experience within PCB/PCBA manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in:

o SMT placement equipment and processes
o Reflow soldering & thermal profiling
o Troubleshooting SMT line issues and defects
  • Proven experience with:

o Line optimization and process improvements
o Yield improvement initiatives
o Manufacturing data analysis and root cause problem solving
  • Hands-on, floor-based mindset with the ability to drive solutions in real time
  • Experience supporting automation and production scaling efforts
  • ITAR eligibility required; experience working in an ITAR-regulated environment is a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume environments
  • Exposure to AOI/X-ray inspection systems
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
