We are seeking a Process Engineer to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives within a fast-paced production environment for a client of ours in the greater New Haven area. This onsite role will partner closely with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, reduce equipment downtime, and support capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to identify process challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts related to machine downtime, quality concerns, and manufacturing inefficiencies.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, TPM activities, 5S programs, and process improvement projects.
  • Develop detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standardized operating procedures.
  • Evaluate and support new manufacturing equipment purchases, installations, upgrades, and vendor coordination activities.
  • Maintain CAD layouts for manufacturing equipment and facility configurations.
  • Coordinate production scheduling considerations during equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations to minimize operational disruption.
  • Provide technical support related to industrial manufacturing processes, metrology, measurement systems, and process optimization.
  • Assist with predictive maintenance and process improvement initiatives utilizing manufacturing data and analytics tools.
  • Partner cross-functionally with procurement, quality assurance, maintenance, operations, and external vendors/customers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methodologies, and quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen, TPM, root cause analysis, and 5S.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and other engineering-related technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments and organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Comfortable operating within dynamic manufacturing environments and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
