The Process Engineer, Incoming Quality, SRT is responsible for driving continuous improvement across SRT, MRB, and Scrap processes within the Model 3/Y/Optimus and EOL departments. This is a critical engineering role embedded in the Fremont manufacturing ecosystem, focused on reducing scrap, improving yield, and sustaining operational efficiency through lean methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.
Shift: 07:30AM - 04:30PM; Monday - Friday
Drive continuous improvement in SRT/MRB/Scrap processes across all Model 3/Y/Optimus and EOL departments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production/Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Production Control, Packaging Engineering, Warehouse, and MRB to define, qualify, and track projects that reduce scrap and enhance process reliability
Identify optimization opportunities across existing workflows and within the broader Fremont ecosystem to improve operational efficiency and reduce scrap-related costs
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing, documenting, and refining current processes to minimize scrap and increase yield
Support Engineering and Manufacturing through Lean initiatives, including 5S, material handling optimization, production line configuration, and safety protocol enhancements
Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables using standardized project management tools and engineering systems to ensure on-time execution and accountability
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
Proven experience in automotive/robotics assembly, manufacturing operations, or hands-on vehicle repair with a strong understanding of production environments
Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with electromechanical systems, tools, instrumentation, and measurement techniques in industrial or manufacturing settings
Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis), supported by experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation
Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Minitab, or similar) and excellent written, verbal, and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Adept at managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments, with a track record of delivering results under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and operational rigor
Innovative mindset with a proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement, drive process innovation, and implement solutions that are faster, more efficient, and cost-effective, aligned with Tesla's culture of continuous disruption and revolutionary product development

$84,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
