ATI in Millersburg, OR is seeking a Heat Treatment Engineer to join our team. This is a day shift position and will report to the Quality Manager. This is a great role for a recent engineering graduate with manufacturing environment work experience or internship interested in a boots on the ground, hands on role in a manufacturing facility!

The Heat Treatment Engineer is instrumental in collecting, reviewing and processing and product data from our furnaces to ensure furnaces operate within required temperature tolerances based on internal and external requirements. Additional tasks include completing temperature profile surveys on industrial furnaces throughout the facility. This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to perform repetitive motions and climb onto furnace structures.

To become successful in this role the candidate will need to quickly learn and develop a strong understanding of ATI's processes and collaborate with cross functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, and Digital Technologies. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, works effectively with a wide range of personalities, and is comfortable navigating challenging conversations as needed. A continuous‑improvement mindset is essential, and the candidate should be eager to identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve data accuracy, and strengthen overall furnace performance. This position requires someone who takes initiative, is curious, and is confident working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Furnace Heat Charts (combination of paper and digital) and compile time-at-temp requirements and generate thermal processing reports for Quality Certification.
  • Lead engineering projects to enhance furnace data acquisition, chart accuracy, and long‑term process traceability.
  • Maintain Furnace Temperature Uniformity Survey Program.
  • Oversee secure storage, retention, and retrieval of short‑ and long‑term furnace records to ensure audit readiness.
  • Provide technical guidance for operations on furnace quality requirements, customer specific heat treat specifications, and industry standards such as AMS 2750
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Quality, and Metallurgy teams to interpret thermal‑processing data and ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications.
