Lead Process Engineer Employment Type: Full‑time Job Type: Exempt Location : Greater Wilkes-Barre / Scranton, PA area Salary Range: $120,000 - $150, 000 annually (commensurate with experience) Our engineering services client is currently seeking Lead Process Engineer This role supports projects based out of our client’s customer’s manufacturing facility office. This resource will be required to be onsite one to two days per week. Our client is also willing to consider candidates from outside of the immediate area of the customer site and will cover accommodations for required onsite days. Primary Responsibilities Lead process and mechanical engineering design for industrial projects Ensure engineering quality, accuracy, and compliance Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and specifications Develop equipment specs , bid documents, and construction packages Support proposals and business development , including scope and cost estimates Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, OEMs, and internal teams Conduct onsite field investigations to support design efforts Review vendor submittals and lead design reviews Support construction, startup, and commissioning Travel as needed (up to 25% ) Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering , or equivalent experience 10+ years of process engineering experience in manufacturing environments Experience leading engineering teams and external partners Solid background in: P&IDs and process documentation Installation, bid, and construction packages Process and utility piping design Papermaking technology (towel and tissue) Cost estimating and commissioning support Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of relevant experience PE license or ability to obtain within 24 months Experience with advanced papermaking systems , 3D design tools, HVAC, TAD, PHAs, Yankee dryers, dust control, and material handling We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
