Job Summary
As a Pro Field Sales Representative, you are the frontline force driving commercial and residential contractor demand within your territory. You will build strong, trust‑based relationships with professional contractors, engineers, architects, and dealer partners while delivering industry‑leading technical expertise.
This role goes beyond traditional selling-you will execute a comprehensive field sales strategy to grow territory profitability, influence product specification, and reinforce Hillman's position as a premier, solutions‑oriented industry partner. Your success will be defined by demand creation, account growth, and lasting partnerships across the jobsite ecosystem.
Essential Job Functions *
Strategic Sales & Demand Generation
- Drive Contractor Demand: Actively engage with residential and professional contractors on jobsites to identify needs, influence product selection, and pull sales through the Hillman dealer network.
- Prospecting & Market Growth: Identify, qualify, and develop new dealer and contractor accounts using field intelligence, trade associations, advertising leads, and industry events.
- Territory Management: Own and execute a strategic business plan to grow revenue, increase market penetration, and expand Hillman Pro brand presence within the assigned territory.
Technical Expertise & Product Advocacy
- Product Demonstrations & Training: Deliver high‑impact, hands‑on product demonstrations and technical training sessions for contractors, specifiers, engineers, and dealer teams.
- Technical Consulting: Serve as a trusted technical resource, providing guidance on fasteners, pneumatic tools, and building materials aligned to real‑world application needs.
- Project Specification Support: Partner with engineers, architects, and influencers to secure Hillman Pro product specifications early in the project lifecycle-from design through installation.
Relationship & Channel Development
- Dealer Collaboration: Work closely with dealer partners to support pull‑through demand, ensure optimal product placement, and jointly grow contractor business.
- Industry Engagement: Represent Hillman Pro at trade shows, jobsite events, and customer meetings to strengthen brand visibility and professional credibility.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably selling to contractors, distributors, engineers, or within the construction, industrial, or building materials industry.
- Strong understanding of construction project workflows, pneumatic tools, fasteners, and building materials.
- Ability to translate technical features into practical, value‑driven solutions for customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook), CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), and ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work Environment
Sales/Service: Environment varies due to location/store set-up. May be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Travel required daily. May have to drive 200 miles daily. Hand/eye coordination required. Function vision and hearing required.
Physical Demands
Sales/Service: Medium, lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
