Pro Bono Supervisor

What You'll Do:

• Provides legal representation to immigrant clients in removal proceedings and immigration relief cases, including asylum, SIJ, T/U visas, family-based petitions, and bond hearings
• Represents unaccompanied children and other vulnerable populations, including appearances in immigration and family court for SIJ-related matters
• Recruits, trains, mentors, and supervises pro bono attorneys and volunteers
• Screens clients, assigns cases, tracks progress, and ensures deadlines are met
• Develops and maintains partnerships with law firms, nonprofits, clinics, and legal networks
• Manages and reviews pro bono caseload and intervenes on cases requiring attention
• Creates training materials and maintains a pro bono resource library
• Supports outreach, training events, and volunteer recruitment efforts
• Completes monthly grant reporting and collaborates with internal departments to support client outcomes
• Coordinates with legal staff to support program growth and effectiveness
• Participates in and delivers legal trainings for staff and external partners
• Communicates with clients and government agencies and assists with special projects as needed
• Supervises pro bono legal assistant, program specialist, volunteers, and pro bono attorneys
• Recruits, trains, and mentors pro bono attorneys and volunteers, while collaborating with community partners and agencies
• Collects and manages program-wide and grant-specific data
• Participates in meetings with immigration legal service organizations and community partners
• Screens clients and provides referrals for pro bono legal services
• Coordinates case placements with support staff and provides ongoing mentoring, technical assistance, and training as needed

What You'll Bring

• Juris Doctor (JD) with active State Bar membership required; Louisiana license preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and spoken) required
• At least 2 years of immigration law or related experience preferred; clinical experience may be considered
• Experience with immigration, child dependency cases, and/or working with children and trauma survivors preferred
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload independently under tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with diverse and vulnerable populations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
• Must pass required background checks and clearances

• Weekly; Flexible
