PRN Imaging Technologist

At River People Health Center is seeking a skilled and adaptable Imaging Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis. This role is essential for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services while ensuring an exceptional patient experience. As a PRN team member, you will fill staffing gaps, support peak volumes, and maintain the continuity of care our patients expect.

Who are we?

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over 9,000 tribal members, and all people conduct business over approximately 96 square miles of residential, agricultural and commercial lands, as a full-service government entity. Health & Human Services'- River People Health Center (RPHC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Imaging Technologist to join our Imaging team.

What the job looks like

  • This is a PRN (As Needed) position with a pay rate of $40.00 per hour.
  • Please note that this position does not include a benefits package.
  • To maintain PRN status, the incumbent is required to work a minimum of three (3) days per month.
  • May be required to work beyond normal business hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Provide imaging services at the main RPHC clinic.
  • Utilize age-appropriate techniques to ensure a calm, safe experience.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and image labeling.

What you have:

  • Follows orders requested by prescribing Provider.

  • Selects equipment for use according to specifications of examination to achieve optimal results

  • Confirms patient identification, order and history to ensure orders are per required specifications.

  • See patients to exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.

  • Explains procedures to patients to secure maximum cooperation to obtain superior exam during imaging.

  • Monitors patient during the procedure to ensure safety and comfort.

  • Utilizes and adjusts equipment controls according to area to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test.

  • Performs imaging and related duties with a high degree of quality and accuracy.

  • Evaluates images for technical quality, effectively demonstrates the anatomic area of interest and assures proper identification is recorded.

  • Evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by protocol.

  • Documents and enters patient information using the EHR, as necessary.

  • Performs routine quality assurance procedures and reporting malfunctions. Reports on equipment malfunction to the department Manager and/or BioMed staff to expedite repairs.

  • Cleans work area and patient exam area. Maintains appropriate supplies on a daily basis.

  • Knowledge of the history, culture, laws, rules, customs and traditions of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
  • Knowledge of expectations of medical office standards, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of physiology and cross-sectional human anatomy for both adult and pediatric care.
  • Skill with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill with operating complex medical equipment and computerized instruments.
  • Skill in operating and cleaning sterilizing instruments and conduct routine maintenance and adjustment checks.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgement, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of clinically trained service providers.
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures and ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive patient information.
  • Ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Salt River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

What you need:

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science in radiologic technology required. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or US Military Radiography training required. AZ licensure from Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE)

  • Required Experience: 6 months' combined experience in clinical General Radiology, required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a community clinic and Pediatric radiology.
  • Experience working with Native American communities.
  • Clerical experience with medical records.

Specia Requirements:

  • Valid BLS certification
  • Strictly adhere to HIPAA and SRPMIC HHS policies and procedures.
