Hold Service Plan SP meetings in a timely manner. Provide diagnostic information and work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities. Conduct ongoing review of students records and monitor for compliance with Local State and Federal laws policies and procedures.QualificationsEducationCertificationMaster&rsquos degree in educational assessmentValid Texas Special Education teaching certificateValid Texas educational diagnostician certificateSpecial KnowledgeSkillsKnowledge of diagnostic procedures education of special education students human development and learning theories laws pertaining to participation of private schools in the district&rsquos special education programExcellent organizational communication and interpersonal skillsExperienceThree years of teaching experience at least two of those must be in special educationMajor Responsibilities and DutiesAssessmentReceive student referrals review for accuracy and facilitate the initial consent process to complete the evaluation process where applicable and ensure that the FIIE is developed and that all initials and reevaluation documents are developed and implemented in a timely manner.Select and administer formal and informal assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services according to federal and Texas Education Agency regulations.Collect and organize relevant assessment data from the students cumulative folder classroom teachers principal support staff parents and outside resource people.Conduct classroom observation and personal interviews.Participate in Service Plans meetings to assist with interpretation of assessment data appropriate placement and development of Individual Education Plans IEP for students according to district procedures.Participate in the Transition process including but not limited to informal assessments for Transition planning and inviting outside agencies as appropriate to SP meetings where transition is discussed.Review student&rsquos records for compliance and implementation and report the findings to the Executive Director of Special Programs and the Superintendent of the private school.Develop and implement corrective action plan to address non-complianceConsultationProvide staff development training in assigned schools to assist school personnel in identification and understanding of students with disabilities.Consult parents concerning the educational needs of students and interpretation of assessment data.Consult parents teachers administrators and other relevant individuals to enhance students servicesCoordinate services for students as determined through the SP meetingConsult with private school staff as needed and make recommendations for struggling students and for those who do not qualify for special educational services.Program ManagementDevelop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with staff students and parents.Electronically compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.Maintain practices and documentation to facilitate accurate state reporting through PEIMS and State Performance Plan Indicators.Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rules and local board policy in the areas of assessment placement and planning for special education services.Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.CommunicationMaintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.Effectively communicate with colleagues students and parents.OtherRegular AttendanceAny other duties as assigned by supervisorSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.Working ConditionsMental DemandsPhysical DemandsEnvironmental FactorsMaintain emotional control under stress.
