    Description

    Overview Principal Staff Engineer (Leadership/Operations-Not as technical). This position reports to the District Manager of Process, Operations, and Resources for PSE&G's Gas Operations. The role is responsible for developing and implementing the Industrial Relations (IR) strategy, managing union activities, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and serving as the central communication point for operational leads. It includes guiding operational leads, tracking union grievances, managing work and financial plans, analyzing business performance, collaborating on corrective actions, and preparing ad hoc reports for the Gas Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The employee may be assigned to various Gas District Headquarters or other company locations as needed. The successful candidate may be placed in a different gas location.Job ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and execution of the Industrial Relations strategy and manage union-related activities to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.Provide guidance and support to operational leads on IR-related matters.Prepare briefs for grievance meetings and mutual gains discussions.Assist with the development and management of annual work and financial plans to achieve maximum profitability while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and plan completion.Oversee resource allocation, including cost planning, overtime management, resource sharing, and productivity analysis, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Act as the primary liaison between Utility Finance and Business Work Planning teams.Develop a communication strategy to align operations teams with financial and work plans.Conduct regular business performance analyses and collaborate with stakeholders on corrective actions and lessons learned.Generate ad hoc reports upon request from the Gas SLT.Job Specific QualificationsJob Requirements:BS degree in Engineering6 years of utility or plant experienceEffective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, adaptability, and results orientationClear and concise writing and verbal communications skillsAbility to cover On Call Assignments to handle emergency replacement work and assist during system emergency situationsValid driver's licenseFosters an inclusive work environment and respects diversityDemonstrates and values differences in others\' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choicesSafety conscious at all timesDesired QualificationsAdvanced technical training or NJ Professional Engineering LicenseMaster's degree in electrical engineering and/or PhDMinimum Years of Experience6 years of experienceEducationBachelor's in EngineeringSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionUtilities, Services for Renewable Energy, and Energy TechnologyOnsite requirements: Must come onsite 3-4 days a week for training/meetings as needed.
