The Principal operates as a trusted client advisor, commercial leader, and engagement owner—balancing deep research expertise with strong business judgment, leadership through influence, and personal sales accountability.

This role is ideal for an experienced MedTech market research or consulting leader who thrives in ambiguity, can translate complex client problems into actionable solutions, and is motivated by both client impact and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end primary market research and consulting engagements, serving as the senior point of contact for clients.

  • Translate ambiguous client questions into clear research objectives, study designs, and insight narratives.

  • Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery of projects, with accountability for overall engagement success.

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations.

  • Present findings to senior client stakeholders and guide decision-making discussions.

Commercial Ownership & Growth

  • Own a personal sales and revenue target, including new business development and account expansion.

  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and bring forward relevant IQVIA offerings across the portfolio.

  • Partner with business development, delivery teams, and subject matter experts to shape proposals and solution designs.

  • Support thought leadership activities, conference participation, and client-facing marketing initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Operate as a senior leader within cross-functional project teams, influencing without direct authority.

  • Provide clear direction, context, and feedback to project team members to ensure strong execution.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability building within the MedTech Consulting Services group.

  • Collaborate closely with peers, delivery leadership, and global teams to ensure consistency and quality across engagements.

Strategic Thinking

  • Apply strong MedTech industry knowledge to anticipate client needs and emerging market trends.

  • Help shape study approaches, methodologies, and value stories that differentiate IQVIA in the market.

  • Balance client demands with commercial discipline, delivery rigor, and internal standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 15+ years of experience in MedTech market research, consulting, or commercial strategy.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex qualitative and quantitative research engagements.

  • Strong client-facing presence with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to own revenue targets and contribute to business development.

  • Experience across multiple MedTech therapy areas and modalities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a matrixed organization.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MMR, MBA, PhD, or equivalent).

  • Experience on both the client and consulting/supplier side.

  • Global project experience and comfort working with international teams.

  • Prior experience within a large professional services organization.
