    Introduction

    The Legacy Engines and APU Structures Group within the Component Design & Analysis (CDA) directorate is responsible for the design, development, and analysis of static gas turbine engine components. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing and leading subordinate efforts on stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
    • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
    • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
    • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience with structural mechanics of static components.
    • Experience with dispositioning discrepant hardware.
    • Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
    • Experience with estimating engineering efforts.
    • Experience with mentoring less experienced engineers.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
    • Provide technical expertise on a variety of engine and power systems programs.
    • Ensure compliance with customer and program requirements.
    • Communicate with Project engineering teams, conduct design reviews, and present to internal and external customers.
    • Engage and lead department process improvement initiatives.
