WSP USA is seeking a Principal / Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight on complex infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for delivering high-level design solutions and leading multidisciplinary teams within our movable bridge group.
This role can sit out of various WSP offices, including: Tampa, Miami, Sunrise, or Orlando
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems across large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Responsible for single and three phase power distribution (low and medium voltage) and controls for project systems and subsystems design, calculations, construction support, and commissioning.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and technical authority for electrical designs.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Oversee preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, and reports.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Lead advance technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases and presentations to clients.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Support business development, proposal preparation, and client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, inspection and project leadership.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Excellence in analytical techniques in solving technical problems with a high degree of complexity.
- Demonstrate the highest level of quality excellence in technical performance and assurance through innovative thinking and application of tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Proven experience with client management and business development.
