Position Specific Description
The Principal Data Product Manager is responsible for leading the lifecycle of data-centric products, focusing on product discovery to ensure alignment with user needs and business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define data product strategy and vision aligned with NEE and EDP goals.
- Develop a product roadmap that evolves with changing user needs.
- Identify Enterprise Data opportunities and user needs through research and analysis.
Product Discovery:
- Conduct design sessions with business unit stakeholders to ideate and yield draft product requirements.
- Conduct user interviews and surveys to gather insights and validate product concepts.
- Develop mockups and conduct usability testing.
- Engage in competitive analysis to identify differentiation opportunities.
- Utilize data-driven techniques to uncover emerging trends and inform discovery.
Product Development and Tech Oversight:
- Partner with engineering, solution architects, and business unit stakeholders to translate discovery insights into product features.
- Prioritize features and functionalities based on business impact and technical feasibility.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and communicate product status.
- Advocate for product within the company and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Provide training and support for users and stakeholders to maximize product adoption.
Data Analysis and Insights:
- Utilize data analysis tools to derive insights and inform product decisions.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of data within products.
Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and monitor KPIs to assess product performance and return on investment (e.g., product-level Profit and Loss forecasting and analysis).
- Manage budget for product development and ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate results and insights.
- Create product collateral (e.g. case studies, 1-pagers).
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis, data warehousing, and other data software architecture considerations.
- Software development experience (e.g. knowledge of ETL processes, CI/CD workflows, alerts and error handling).
- Understanding of product lifecycle management.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools.
- Strong skills in product discovery, user research, and prototype testing.

The successful candidate is responsible for developing a product roadmap for new challenges faced by customers in NextEra Energy Resources and Florida Power and Light. - Leads sprint planning and directing the implementation of critical and complex projects which typically involves and impacts multiple business unit stakeholders"

- Oversees the development of modeling using various modeling algorithms such as supervised machine learning, optimization techniques, time series forecasting and regression analysis
- Guides the development of new or enhances existing analytical models using programming or scripting languages or performs quantitative studies to support many aspects of the business
- Administers current forecast solutions including model training, new site setup and customer service
- Plans and executes on a multi-generational product plan
- Leads new product development initiatives, oversees process improvement projects and contributes to technical analytical systems
- Provides frequent status updates and presentations, both formal and informal, to varying levels of management
- Participates in employee development, coaching and ongoing performance management
- Travels to remote office locations for detailed requirements gathering and major project briefings - travel expected 10-25% of the time
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
