Designs modern relational database solutions and Azure-based data warehouse architecture supporting trusted, high-quality data for downstream analytics and Power BI reporting. IDR is seeking a Principal Data Architect to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role plays a crucial part in shaping the organization's HR data ecosystem, leading design and governance initiatives to ensure scalable and secure data solutions that support enterprise reporting and analytics.

Position Overview for the Principal Data Architect:

• The Principal Data Architect is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for the firm's HR data ecosystem.
• Leads the design, governance, and evolution of the HR Operational Data Store (ODS), ensuring HR data is scalable, secure, reliable, and optimized for enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Designs modern relational database solutions and Azure-based data warehouse architecture supporting trusted, high-quality data for downstream analytics and Power BI reporting.
• Partners closely with HRIS, Talent Analytics, Reporting, and business stakeholders to translate complex HR processes into sustainable data solutions.
• Manages the Database Administrator while providing architectural leadership, technical guidance, mentoring, and hands-on expertise.

Requirements for the Principal Data Architect:

• 5+ years of designing enterprise data architecture, operational data stores, enterprise data warehouses, and relational database solutions
• 2+ years of leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise data warehouse solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies
• Azure Tech: SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADF (data factory), ADLS (Data lake storage)
• Experience designing scalable relational database solutions supporting enterprise reporting and business intelligence
