About the Role

We're looking for a Clinical Strategist to join our Delivery team and serve as a strategic clinical voice across our Periop and PCC product lines. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in pre-anesthesia testing, perioperative nursing, and clinical workflow design to shape solutions that deliver measurable value to PAT teams, anesthesia departments, OR leadership, and the patients they serve.

You will partner closely with our Director of Clinical Strategy & Affairs and our anesthesiologist medical directors to make sure every product decision, implementation, and client engagement reflects how care actually happens. You'll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Implementation, Client Success, and Sales to translate frontline clinical reality into product direction, repeatable workflow standards, and credible ROI.

This is a hands-on strategic role for someone who wants to do more than implement. You'll own clinical workflow design and signoff, drive expansion through clinical insight, and help us build a team and methodology that scales as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Workflow and Implementation Strategy

  • Design scalable clinical workflows. Develop and standardize best-fit clinical workflow recommendations for PCC and Periop core solutions, making sure configurations support a clean path to expansion rather than over-customized, unscalable builds.
  • Identify upstream and downstream impacts. Analyze and document upstream and downstream clinical considerations so that solution architecture integrates cleanly into existing hospital operations, including Epic Embed and similar EHR-native workflows.
  • Serve as the senior clinical escalation point. Step in as the clinical voice on complex implementations, interpreting client needs and recommending the shortest, most effective path to clinical value and expansion.
  • Drive expansion through clinical insight. Identify the specific clinical levers that justify wider rollout, helping clients move from pilot to enterprise adoption efficiently and credibly.

ROI Methodology and Value Realization

  • Own the clinical ROI methodology. Be the single accountable owner for PCC and Periop clinical ROI frameworks, keeping Sales promises, Product capabilities, and Delivery execution aligned.
  • Standardize value analytics. Partner with technical teams to make sure product analytics are built to support client-facing ROI calculations and standardized reporting.
  • Audit roadmap to value. Make sure prioritized features tie directly back to ROI drivers, so development effort produces measurable client value.
  • Find intersectional value. Look for untapped opportunities where one product can amplify the value of another (for example, leveraging PCC clinical data to support service-line growth).

Product Strategy and Collaboration

  • Provide strategic clinical sign-off. Partner with Delivery and Product leadership to give mandatory clinical sign-off on Product Investment Strategy, including approving workflows that support product build.
  • Be the clinical Voice of the Client. Act as the primary conduit for clinical voice-of-client, influencing Product Directors so the roadmap addresses real user needs in the OR and PAT spaces.
  • Counterpart to Design and Research. Serve as the delivery-side counterpart to product design and research leadership, making sure client research is interpreted through an accurate clinical lens before design work begins.
  • Bridge the clinical-to-product knowledge gap. Translate complex clinical concepts (case resequencing, risk stratification, optimization pathways) for product managers and engineers, reducing rework and the explanation burden

Sales and Marketing Enablement

  • Develop strategic clinical content. Partner with Marketing to define clinical narratives and content needs before design cycles begin, especially for QBRs and value-add presentations, so the work has clinical authority and avoids rework.
  • Equip Sales with clinical talk tracks. Act as the dotted-line clinical strategist for Sales, making sure they have accurate ROI talk tracks and understand the clinical importance of beta capabilities and competitive differentiators.
  • Prioritize roadmap from Delivery's perspective. Advocate for features that solve delivery bottlenecks and implementation friction points, so the product is as deployable as it is functional.

External Presence and Thought Leadership

  • Publish and speak. Contribute to white papers, journal articles, and conference presentations on perioperative care, pre-anesthesia optimization, and nursing-led innovation.
  • Build credibility in the clinical community. Engage with clinical societies (AORN, ASPAN, AAACN, AONL, ASA committees) and develop a presence that supports both Qventus's reputation and our partner clients' confidence.
  • Translate field experience into market-facing assets. Package client and clinical feedback into vignettes, case studies, and best-practice perspectives that can be shared internally and externally.

What We're Looking For

  • Active clinical license. RN with advanced practice and/or executive credentials (CNOR strongly preferred), CRNA, PA-C, or MD/DO. Maintaining active licensure throughout employment is required.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in operational or clinical leadership roles such as PAT Manager/Director, Perioperative Service Line Leader, OR Director, Anesthesia Department Operations, or Perioperative Nursing Informatics.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with at least one of: pre-anesthesia testing operations, perioperative service line leadership, OR scheduling and throughput operations, anesthesia department operations, or perioperative nursing informatics. Familiarity with workflow design, staffing models, risk stratification, optimization pathways, and day-of-surgery cancellation reduction.
  • A track record of leading clinical teams through significant workflow change, ideally including technology-enabled change and earning adoption from frontline staff who started skeptical.
  • Client-facing presence and credibility. Comfortable presenting to and influencing senior clinical leaders (CNO, AVP/VP Perioperative Services, Anesthesia Chair, PAT Medical Director) without rehearsal, and equally at home with frontline PAT and OR staff.
  • Strong cross-functional operating chops. You've owned outcomes, driven decisions across functions, and partnered effectively with non-clinical leaders in product, engineering, sales, and client success.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree (MSN, DNP, MBA, MHA, or MD) strongly preferred.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience at, or working with, a health-tech, digital health, or healthcare AI company in a clinical strategy, advisory, or clinical leadership capacity.
  • Familiarity with informatics standards, EHR integration realities (Epic, Cerner/Oracle), and the practical mechanics of clinical workflow data.
  • Published or publicly visible thought leadership in perioperative care, pre-anesthesia optimization, surgical home models, or nursing innovation.
  • Experience contributing to product strategy or clinical content development for a software product.
  • Society involvement or committee roles (AORN, ASPAN, AAACN, AONL, ASA Pre-Anesthesia Committee, similar).

How You Work

  • You believe nursing concerns are usually right and always worth listening to.
  • You can move between a frontline PAT nurse, a department chair, a head of product, and a CFO in the same week, and adjust without losing your point of view.
  • You hold a high bar for clinical safety and appropriateness, and you also understand that the status quo has its own safety costs.
  • You are comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and being accountable for them.
  • You bring rigor, humility, and a builder's mindset, and you're energized by working on something that's still being figured out.
