Job Description

Mechanical Systems Engineering is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team supporting preventative maintenance, emergent repairs, and renovation projects for facility infrastructure at the Niskayuna Site, with emphasis on drainage, structural systems, roofs, and sewage/stormwater systems. Typical work includes civil and structural evaluations for road building, underground utilities, and roof repairs; ownership and maintenance of sewage and stormwater drain systems; support to recapitalization projects from concept design through construction closeout (including calculations, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents); utility identification for excavations; construction and condition inspections; and maintenance/operations support for emergent issues. The position requires 9+ years (7 with Master's degree) of civil engineering experience through all project phases, strong technical and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively across multiple project teams. EIT/PE credentials, consulting experience, structural analysis of steel and concrete, familiarity with relevant federal and state codes, and demonstrated proficiency in technical writing are preferred.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Preferred Skills

• EIT certificate and/or PE License
• Engineering consulting experience
• In depth working knowledge or relevant federal and state engineering codes.
• Experience dealing with State or Federal regulators.

Pay Range

$106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
