Job Summary
The Principal of Health Professions High School is responsible for advancing instructional quality, improving student achievement, and leading the school s Patient Care Pathway, Career Technical Education (CTE) and medical industry certification programs. This position provides strategic oversight of healthcare industry certification programs, workforce development initiatives, and grant-funded objectives to ensure students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and credentials necessary for success in postsecondary education and healthcare careers. The Principal is responsible for the effective stewardship of grant resources, ensuring fiscal accountability, compliance, and alignment with program goals. As the instructional and community leader, the Principal will continue to cultivate strong partnerships with healthcare providers, higher education institutions, workforce development organizations, and community agencies to expand authentic learning experiences, work-based learning opportunities, dual enrollment, industry certifications, and career pathways. Through collaborative leadership and innovative program development, the Principal strengthens Health Professions High School s mission of preparing every student for college, career, and lifelong success in the healthcare field.

Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor s degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required and preference will be given for experience at a comparable segment level for which appointment is considered. An additional two years of experience as a vice principal, department chairperson, counselor, student activities advisor, or in another administrative or supervisory capacity in a school system, is also required. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid standard supervision credential, with authorization to serve as a school principal, or a credential of equivalent authorization issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required. A standard administration credential, or its equivalent, warrants priority consideration.
For full consideration include all of the following documents/information:
- Credential Copy (or Document Number listed on CTC/if enrolled in an intern program or preliminary program must provide letter from program verifying enrollment and completion of program (for intern program, letter must state you are intern eligible))
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 signed letters dated within 1 year of the application window; letters beyond 1 year or undated will not be accepted)
- Resume (current and up-to-date)
