About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead enterprise-scale DevSecOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, and release engineering initiatives within a large-scale data and analytics ecosystem. This role will drive the architecture, governance, and automation standards that enable secure, scalable, and compliant software delivery across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Python, GitHub Actions, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Harness CD, DevSecOps, and Enterprise Architecture, with a proven track record of leading technical transformation programs in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive enterprise architecture strategy for DevSecOps and platform engineering.
- Design and govern CI/CD frameworks using GitHub Actions and reusable workflows.
- Establish architectural standards for deployment automation, release governance, and software delivery.
- Lead implementation of security controls and compliance automation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Architect deployment patterns for OpenShift/Kubernetes environments using Harness CD.
- Develop reference architectures, IaC patterns, and engineering standards for enterprise adoption.
- Partner with Platform Engineering, Security, Cloud Operations, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
- Drive adoption of DevSecOps, GitOps, SRE, and engineering excellence practices.
- Mentor senior engineers, architects, and technical leaders across the organization.
- Influence enterprise-wide technology strategy and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience.
- Expert-level Python development and architecture experience.
- Strong experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
- 10+ years designing and implementing enterprise CI/CD platforms.
- Extensive experience with GitHub Actions and reusable workflow design.
- Deep expertise in DevSecOps and security automation.
- Strong experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience implementing deployment automation using Harness CD or similar tools.
- Experience integrating security scanning tools such as:
- SonarQube
- Checkmarx
- Black Duck
- SAST
- DAST
- GitHub Secret Scanning
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong understanding of GitOps, compliance automation, and release governance.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or enterprise cloud platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Open-source contributions to Conda-Forge, Pixi, or related ecosystems.
- Expertise in platform engineering and golden-path repository design.
- Experience with DORA metrics and engineering excellence initiatives.
- Knowledge of Airflow, MLFlow, Kedro, and large-scale data platforms.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or AWS Kiro.
- Strong background in Enterprise Architecture governance and standards
