The Oracle Health Data Intelligence organization develops and operates the data processing, analytics and intelligence platforms that power Oracle Health applications, healthcare systems and analytics solutions supporting hundreds of millions of patients worldwide. Within the Oracle Health Data Intelligence Platform (HDI) organization, the Analytics Control Plane team builds the services, automation, and orchestration required to provision and manage cloud-native analytics infrastructure across ingestion, transformation, storage, and access layers. Our platform enables reliable, secure, and compliant analytics services while meeting enterprise and regulatory requirements.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in designing and building the Analytics Control Plane that automates the provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of Oracle Health analytics infrastructure on OCI. You will own architecture and implementation across critical platform domains including networking, identity and access management, authentication, authorization, security, databases, and analytics services.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, cloud infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to modernize Oracle Health analytics platforms and migrate complex legacy workloads to cloud-native architectures. You will design scalable platform capabilities that leverage OCI services while improving automation, reliability, observability, security, and operational efficiency.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $99,600 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle''s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and development of cloud-native platform services and automation for provisioning and managing Oracle Health analytics infrastructure.
  • Drive architecture and technical direction for platform capabilities spanning networking, security, identity, databases, analytics services, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Design scalable, resilient, and secure solutions that leverage OCI services and cloud-native design principles.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and cloud infrastructure teams to migrate legacy analytics platforms to modern cloud architectures.
  • Own complex technical initiatives from architecture and design through implementation, testing, production readiness, and operational support.
  • Mentor engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and engineering best practices while raising the technical quality of the organization.
  • Improve platform reliability, performance, observability, and operational excellence through automation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure platform solutions meet security, compliance, availability, and regulatory requirements expected of healthcare systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s degree in computer science or related discipline required.
  • Experience with distributed data processing systems (e.g. Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Hands on experience writing code with modern procedural programming languages such as Java and Python.
  • Good understanding of design concepts and ability to design software components in a distributed system.
  • Effective communication of technical ideas verbally and in writing, including technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the team and other stakeholders.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated competence as a technical lead of a non-trivial SaaS/IaaS project spanning multiple functional areas, involving up to 10 engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with production operations including deployment, monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
  • Experience with containerized service development and operations.
  • Production experience with Cloud service providers (e.g. OCI, AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with partnering with managers and other stakeholders to define the technical culture and processes of SW engineering teams
  • Experience with mentoring and growing junior engineers.
