Marin Montessori School is seeking a joyful and resourceful primary support assistant to support two primary classrooms serving children ages 2–6. This role includes preparing classroom materials, supervising children during staff breaks, and providing on-call support when teachers are out.

This position operates on a 10-month school calendar (mid-August through mid-June), with paid breaks during the school year. During the summer months, optional four-week summer camp opportunities are available. 

This is a full-time, non-exempt (37.5 hrs/week) position; Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 3:30 pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily classroom operations in two primary classrooms

  • Prepare materials (cutting, sewing, playdough, punching paper, etc.)

  • Supervise children during staff breaks, maintaining line of sight

  • Serve as on-call assistant substitute when staff are absent

Required Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Minimum 12 ECE units, including Child Development and Child, Family & Community

  • At least six months' experience working with young children

  • Kind, joyful attitude with a desire to learn on the job

  • Interest or experience in crafting/material prep

  • Professional, reliable, punctual, and resourceful

  • Basic computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication

  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and move up/down with ease

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to successfully complete a background check

  • Collaborative and flexible approach to working with colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • Fluent Spanish speaker

  • Knowledge of Montessori principles and enthusiasm to learn
