US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Primary Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.
Responsibilities:
Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients' charts.
Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
Fill out testing orders per physician
Send out prescriptions per physician orders
Orders & explain testing to the patient
Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
Scheduling procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
Review procedure and instructions with the patient
Escort patients to check-out
Check voicemails & enter messages into NextGen
Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
Other related duties as assigned
Travel is required
Requirements:
Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required
Cardiac Experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge in medical terminology
Requires dependable transportation for traveling to clinics in Sahuarita and Tucson main office.
