Tryon Medical Partners is a physician-owned and physician-led multispecialty group seeking Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Sport Medicine Physicians to join our growing outpatient practice in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is a unique opportunity to practice high-quality, patient-centered medicine in a collaborative, team-based environment with strong clinical and administrative support.
For physicians with Sports Medicine fellowship training, this role offers a unique opportunity to build a blended practice with approximately 40-50% non-operative sports medicine (after an initial ramp-up period), complemented by a strong foundation in traditional primary care.
Athena EMR is utilized across all locations for efficient and streamlined workflows.
Schedule & Flexibility
Full-Time: 35 patient-facing hours per week (4- or 4.5-day workweek)
Part-Time: Minimum of 18.75 patient-facing hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Primary Care
- Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adult patients
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Average 18-20 patients per day following a 2-year ramp-up period
- Collaborate with specialists and multidisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Athena EMR
- Participate in optional quality improvement, teaching, or research initiatives
Sports Medicine (for fellowship-trained physicians)
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries
- Develop evidence-based, non-operative treatment plans
- Provide performance, injury prevention, and health optimization care
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapy, rehabilitation, pain and spine specialists, chiropractic care, and clinical support staff
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies as clinically appropriate
- Provide patient education focused on prevention, recovery, and long-term wellness
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine fellowship (if applicable)
- Eligible for or currently holding a North Carolina medical license
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and team collaboration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
