Position Overview
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating press brake Amada press brakes with NC-9 numerical input controls. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts in a safe and efficient manner.
Position Details:
Duration: Full-time (Temp to Perm)
Hours: Shifts may include days, evenings, or weekends depending on production needs.
Pay Rate Range: $22 to $30 per hour based on experience
Key Responsibilities
* Machine Setup & Operation
o Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
o Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures based on job specifications.
o Interpret and adjust machine parameters to maintain accuracy and repeatability.
* Blueprint & Specification Interpretation
o Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
o Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other precision measuring tools.
* Production & Quality Control
o Perform first-article inspections and ensure parts meet required tolerances.
o Document production results and maintain quality standards throughout the production run.
o Identify and communicate production or quality issues promptly.
* Safety & Maintenance
o Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
o Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions.
o Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
Qualifications
* Proven experience with Amada Press Brake with NC-9 numerical input.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop orders.
* Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
* Working knowledge of CNC press brake programming (Amada, Cincinnati, Accurpress, or similar machines preferred).
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment
* Manufacturing/production floor environment.
* Exposure to noise, machinery, and metal materials.
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
