Job Overview
A Machine Operator will perform a variety of jobs working with various metal fabrication machines, but the primary function will be operating the Press Brake.
Day In The Life
Operate press brake machinery to bend and shape metal components according to engineering specifications.
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings, ensuring all parts meet the required dimensions and tolerances.
Utilize tools such as micrometers and calipers for precise measurements during the fabrication process.
Assemble components as needed, employing welding techniques when required.
Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area at all times.
Set up, program and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
What will help you thrive in this role
Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand and read engineering drawings
Familiarity with tooling setups and adjustments for various bending tasks.
Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for quality control.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the manufacturing process.
Computer Skills
Must have sense of urgency
Safety Awareness
Fabrication machine experience desired
Must be able to use a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
Must be able to work in a team environment and independently.
Machinery Experience Desired: Milling Machine (Bridgeport), Waterjet, Various Saws (band, horizontal), Brake press, Drill press
Salvagnini laser experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand for periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted and additional weight with assistance
