Preschool Intervention Referral Specialist (PIRS)

Certifications: New Jersey Preschool-3rd Grade Certification

Teacher of Students with Disabilities

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - preferred

Terms: Tenure Track 10-month Position (Full-Time)

Requirements:

• Knowledge of preschool Tools of the Mind curriculum
• Experience with classroom observations and intervention plans focused on social and emotional development
• Ability to coordinate with parents, CST, related services staff and PIC to identify areas of need within the preschool classrooms
• Knowledge of behavioral interventions formulated through functional assessments
• Demonstrate knowledge of data collection and written format for students' individual behavior plans
• Knowledge of N.J.A.C.6a:18: federal and state special education
• Knowledge of Intervention and Referral Services and 504 Plan coordination and planning
• Experience in conflict resolution, social skills and peer relationship counseling
• Effective and professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and technology skills
• Strong background in Behavioral Disabilities student management

Reports To: Director of Special Programs/Building Principal

Salary Guide: Step 1: BA $58,197 MA $60,613 MA+30 $63,029

The Freehold Borough Public Schools is a Pre-K 8 District in Monmouth County, NJ with a diverse student population of approximately 1,500 students. The district is comprised of two elementary schools and one middle school. Eighth grade school students attend the Freehold Regional High School District.
