Job Summary
Pleasant Hill Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and teachable Assistant Teacher Intern to support our preschool classrooms. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing a future in education, childcare, or ministry who desire hands-on classroom experience in a Christ-centered environment.
This role focuses on learning, growth, and mentorship, while actively assisting teachers with daily classroom activities and student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines and transitions
- Support students with activities, playtime, and basic learning tasks
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Engage with children in a positive, patient, and attentive manner
- Observe and learn classroom management and teaching strategies
- Assist with light cleaning (toys, tables, materials) throughout the day
- Support nap time, snack time, and outdoor play as needed
Qualifications
- Interest in education, childcare, or child development
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible schedule
- Patient, nurturing, and able to engage with young children
- Comfortable working in a Christian, faith-based environment
- Previous childcare experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule / Availability
- Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Flexible shifts available
- Schedules may vary week to week based on classroom needs
