    We are looking for a Premises Liability Associate with 5+ years of civil litigation experience to join a growing defense team handling diverse cases ranging from big box store slip-and-falls to corporate premises claims. You'll work closely with lead attorneys across all phases of litigation and have real client exposure, deposition opportunities, and a path to trial experience at a firm that genuinely invests in your growth.

    What will you be doing?

    • Taking and defending depositions, attending court hearings, and participating in site inspections
    • Drafting and responding to written discovery including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions
    • Handling cases end-to-end: initial case evaluation, filing strategy (demurrers/answers), plaintiff depositions, and reporting to carriers and clients
    • Proactively managing client communications, writing status reports, and preparing case evaluations
    • Evaluating, analyzing, and executing litigation strategies with the goal of achieving client objectives

    Key Requirements

    • 5+ years of civil litigation defense experience with demonstrated premises liability work
    • Significant deposition experience (taking and defending) — ideally 20+ depositions
    • Experience with written discovery, law and motion practice, and billable hour requirements (~1,920/year)
    • Active California State Bar membership in good standing
    • Ability to handle a full caseload independently — from initial complaint through case evaluation and resolution
    Role responsibilities
    • Attending court hearings, participating in site inspections, taking and defending depositions.
    • Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
    • Evaluating, analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies.
    • Proactively manage communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
