Lead and build out preconstruction function for growing GC

Job Description

Lead the full preconstruction process from concept through GMP. Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and cost models. Manage subcontractor bidding, scope leveling, and procurement strategies. Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers during design phases. Lead value engineering and constructability reviews. Partner with operations to ensure smooth project handoff. Work directly with executive leadership on business development strategy. Help guide and mentor project management staff involved in precon.

The Successful Applicant

4-7+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or PM with strong precon exposure. Experience managing full-cycle preconstruction, not just estimating. Background across industrial, healthcare, retail, multifamily, or commercial projects. Strong client-facing skills and ability to lead early project phases. Experience with negotiated and design-build work preferred. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Local to Greenville, SC.
